Options include a performance bonnet with limit switch. The Saunders ½ in. and ¾ in. bonnets are available with one limit switch in the closed position, while the 1 in. and 3 in. bonnets are available with two limit switches in the open and closed positions. Padlocking bonnets for maximum security are also an option. A padlocking device can be specified for new bonnets or a padlocking kit is available for fitting to existing bonnets. Kit components include a padlocking handwheel, collar and pin, and a security lock screw and key. A performance polymer bonnet with leak detector sensor can be added. The sensor bonnet assembly continuously monitors valves on critical applications and immediately indicates loss of process integrity. Feedback options include receiving data via an alarm from individual hand-held units or directly into the process plant automation system.

The specially designed bonnets feature PES (polyethersulfone) polymer or PP (polypropylene) polymer and offer significant weight advantages, while providing the same strength as steel. The polyethersulfone bonnets are perfectly suited for applications involving wash-down chemicals and autoclaving. The valve bonnet includes an O-ring seal, limit close stop and rising handwheel indicator as standard features; items that are offered as extras on some competitive models. Security and reliability of the Saunders valves is further enhanced through a shrouded diaphragm design which provides a better diaphragm seal to atmosphere.
